Needed somewhere close to the bypass for business. So glad I found this wee gem. Fairly basic rooms but clean and comfortable with Tv and kettle etc. Haggis neeps and tatties maybe the best I have ever tasted. Lovely bar with great choice. …

Great pub with great value rooms. Stayed here en route to Edinburgh Airport. Rooms are basic, very clean and has everything you need. The bed has a comfortable mattress and pillows. Bathroom has power shower, basic assortment of toiletries and towels are provided. Possibly the best part of the stay was the breakfast, a Scottish breakfast, including tatty cakes. All the food is sourced locally. The staff are friendly and helpful.

My second visit there for a meal. My partner and I took our two friends there and the meals were excellent, perfectly cooked and piping hot. The staff are extremely helpful and very pleasant. The manager made a point of checking to see if we were satisfied with everything, goes without saying we were. Definitely worth a visit so will be back soon. Keep up this excellent service

Had a lovely 4 night stay. Room small but clean and had everything we needed. Smashing staff really friendly and helpful. Good breakfast included and we ate in the the restaurant at night. Tasty food made with locally sourced ingredients. Half an hour to Edinburgh City centre but bus stop right outside the front door 😊 Really reasonably priced we were very happy. Thanks Adam, Val and the rest of the staff you made us feel very welcome

Location of the hotel is very convenient - it is not in the center but you can reach the center by bus no. 31, the bus station is right in front of the hotel. One way ticket is 2£, payment can be contactless by card on board. The hotel has a free parking and breakfast was included. There are several options for breakfast to choose from. We chose the English breakfast and it was lovely. There is a restaurant / pub in the hotel - food is nice, I recommend having dinner here (dinner is available till 8:30 pm). Only 2 things to consider - the bathroom is very cold. On Sundays after 8:30 there is live music in the pub. It could be a little loud in the room. I like the overall atmosphere of the hotel - it is a typical old traditional British hotel.

Great lunch escape .... First time there doubtfully the last ... Food was good ...prices reasonable ... service good though not very clear in entering where to go etc . Would recommend. Other half liked that they did small portions. Bright ,clean , friendly
